Severe decay, a crack below the gumline, advanced gum disease, or crowding from wisdom teeth are the usual reasons. We only recommend an extraction when saving the tooth is not the better option, and we explain why.

Wisdom teeth often come in crooked, partially, or not at all, and can crowd or damage the teeth next to them. Cone beam CT imaging lets us see exactly where the roots sit before we start, which means a more predictable, comfortable procedure.
